New License Plates Honor PA Veterans

Recognize service in five branches of military

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PENNDOT) is now offering special vehicle license plates honoring veterans of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard, according to Senator Gene Yaw (R-Lycoming).

The new plates feature the standard Pennsylvania license plate colors of blue, white and yellow along with the applicable branch of service emblem or logo on the left side of the plate. The plate also bears the word "Pennsylvania" across the top and the name of the individual branch of service at the bottom.

"These new plates are a great way to honor our many honorably discharged veterans for their service to our country," Yaw said.  "Pennsylvania is home to more than 1.1 million veterans, all of whom sacrificed for our freedoms."

Honorably discharged veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces are eligible to obtain one of the plates by completing Form MV-150, the U.S. Military Veteran Registration Plate Application. The form is available online at: www.dmv.state.pa.us/pdotforms/mv_forms/mv-150.pdf

Veterans should send the completed form along with a certified copy of their DD-214 and a $20 fee to PENNDOT, Bureau of Motor Vehicles, 1101 South Front Street, Harrisburg, PA 17104.

Residents of the 23th District may also obtain the form and assistance in submitting it by contacting any of Senator Yaw's district offices.
