Yaw Bill Reported Out of House Committee

(HARRISBURG)  Senate Bill 297 has taken another step toward becoming law, according it its prime sponsor, Sen. Gene Yaw.

The House Environmental Resources and Energy Committee considered the bill today and passed it onto the full House of Representatives, where it is now poised for a vote .

"I am pleased by this action, and I am grateful to House Chairman Bud George for allowing this bill to come to the full House for its consideration," Yaw said.

Senate Bill 297 would strip away the 5-year confidentiality clause in existing law and require Marcellus operators to report semi-annually.  This information would be made available on the Department of Environmental Protection’s website.

The bill will move to the full House for a vote.
